ScaleArc is Certified on Azure!
Our ScaleArc for SQL Server software is amongst the first products to be certified on the new Azure Marketplace. Plus, Satya Nadella and Scott Guthrie highlighted ScaleArc in their update to the press last Monday – they noted ScaleArc as one of Microsoft’s software partners that’s helping enterprises sort through their cloud strategy.
Both of these developments showcase continued progress in our work with Microsoft. For Azure, the ScaleArc software helps enterprises migrate apps to the cloud more easily and achieve automatic failover across regions for higher application availability.
For both Azure and on-prem deployments of SQL Server, the ScaleArc software complements the advances Microsoft is making in replication with AlwaysOn. AlwaysOn enables failover, but that failover causes application errors, and leveraging AlwaysOn requires modifications to the application code.
ScaleArc’s database traffic management software shields applications from changes in the database infrastructure. The software performs functions such as read/write split automatically, with no code changes, and it holds queries in its queue during failover, so applications see delay but not errors.
