Customer *and Market* Reflections
With a month to go before we end the first half of our fiscal year, I wanted to share some recent proof points on the establishment of the database load balancing market. We at ScaleArc have been working hard for several years to highlight the need for database load balancing, and we’re energized to see its momentum building – including with the addition of new great customers like NASDAQ!
Beyond all the customer traction we’ve been experiencing (check out all the customer stories we’re able to share), ScaleArc was one of only *three* vendors to receive Gartner’s “Cool Vendor” status for all of 2015 in the Operational Database market quadrant. This accolade is just the beginning of market research highlighting the Database Load Balancing market, so stay tuned.
What’s driving this market awareness? Ultimately, a need for higher uptime of our customers’ database environments, along with better performance and scale (and better security). On our home page, you’ll find a brilliant quote from one of our customers, Mouser Electronics, on how ScaleArc delivered a ‘fully automatic” and “impressive recovery. “We’ve had many customers experience this “A-ha!” moment. They deploy ScaleArc, and the first time a database server dies but the app continues to run without even a blip, they immediately see the value ScaleArc provides.
NASDAQ is a significant addition to ScaleArc’s customer roster, further demonstrating why Database Load Balancing is a must – not just for continuous availability, but to enable a more flexible and agile data center architecture. ScaleArc unchains apps from their databases to enable faster migration to the cloud, faster time to upgrade to newer database versions, and the ability to achieve true active/active data centers, hybrid architectures and a distributed (and highly resilient) shared nothing environment.
