Microsoft - A Great Collaboration

When you’re in marketing, the “launch” is always a blast. Be it product, campaign, event, or new messaging, it’s just a rush to see it out there in the marketplace.

This week we had the absolute delight of a very special launch – some great joint marketing with Microsoft that we’ve been developing for several months.

The near-term focus of the launch is to promote our upcoming Academy Live webinar, where Microsoft is hosting ScaleArc to discuss database load balancing and how it simplifies upgrades to SQL Server 2012/2014 and complements AlwaysOn. Tune in to the webinar to hear a particularly interesting case study about ScaleArc making that SQL Server upgrade much faster and easier.

The webinar’s just the beginning. Our long-term work with Microsoft is super exciting. Beyond accelerating adoption of SQL Server 2012/2014, we’re also working together to

ease migration to Azure – by boosting database performance in the cloud and enabling cross-region failover

improve SQL Server’s competitive edge – by augmenting AlwaysOn with key capabilities including geo-aware load balancing and app-transparent failover

help the End of Support for SQL Server 2005 campaign – by making it easy for legacy apps to adopt 2012/2014

At the heart of our work with Microsoft is our ability to jointly enable continuous availability for apps. Microsoft has brought strong innovation to market with the database replication and failover technology in AlwaysOn, and we’re honored to be part of Microsoft’s solution for getting to a zero-downtime environment for apps.
